My husband is currently back home in the UK. He’s applying for and will receive a new passport.
He’s on a non-O “Thai wife” visa and has a valid multiple reentry permit.
Can someone help to guide what the steps might be upon entering Thailand with said new passport - any additional forms to fill at immigration or prior to arrival in Thailand?
Advise about transferring his visa over once in Thailand would also be much appreciated.
A quick update with some possibly relevant information for people with Non-O "Thai Wife" visas in Bangkok, and a short question following a visit to Chaeng Watthana Immigration office yesterday to apply for my first 1 year extension on a Non-O "Thai Wife" visa. Everything went rather smoothly this time (1 hour total time spent at the Bureau of Immigration).
One new thing for us: The immigration officer requested that we make an extra B&W copy of some of the documents we had brought with us (namely the 6 couple pictures, her 2 Tabian Baan and all land documents/Chanote), 1st page of my passport, and her ID Card.
The officer also had my wife fill a form we had never seen before, and which is not in the required document list, and we also had to make an extra B&W photocopy of it. I asked my wife to take notes about the document so we could download it online and fill it (and copying it) before going back there next year. My goal is to streamline the process to perfection and not being sent down to the copy shop again.
The form was about her attesting to our relationship with general information. The document is called หมายเลข 3 กก.2 บก ตม.1 But I wasn't able to find it online. I was wondering if an expert among you would be able to provide more info or to tell me where I can download it? Once we have this, we should be able to make it in and ouf of immigration within 15 minutes next time, without being sent out to make copies and bring some new documents again.
Thanks in advance, as usual, and hopefully, someone finds this information useful!
Hello all! Question regarding the 90 days report :
On March 28 of this year, I went to CW Immigration to change my visa exemption stamp to a Non"O" Thai Wife 3 months visa. They told me to come back on the 18th, which was yesterday.
Yesterday, April 18, I received the said Non"O" Thai Wife 3 months visa, which will allow me to request a 1 year extension in 45 days.
That created a whole lot of stamps in my new passport. They stamped a Non-Immigrant Visa dated April 3 and immediately stamped "USED" over it, then stamped the Non"O" Thai Wife visa on the next page. It said "admitted" on April 3, until July 1st, 2023. I don't know why they had to go through this process but I guess there's an obvious reason other than the fact that they seem to really love to play with a lot of different stamps...
That being said, my main question is : When should I do the 90 days report? The officer gave me my passport back at exactly 11:59 and wouldn't answer my questions because they were closing for lunch...
Do I need to do my 90 days report based on my initial entry to Thailand on March 25, or based on the new visa dated April 3? I'm guessing it shouldn't be based on the date I received the stamp in my passport, which was April 18th, as there is no mention of this date anywhere on the stamp. I'm not sure if switching from a visa exemption to a Non-O resets the counter for the 90 days report.
I hope that's clear, I know there's a lot of date, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible.
I am on Non immigrant type O visa, "Thai Wife" and is stamped in until October 31.
I have tried to find the answers to all these questions both in here and on the government sites, but I'm unable too, perhaps due to permanent overload of my brain...
I don't have the funds to extend "Thai wife" for one year yet, so I would like to do a combination of:
30 day tourism extension (but unsure if I can on non-o?)
60 day covid extension
60 day visiting family - My wife and biological Thai son. (Does it matter that they entered Thailand together with me?)
My thought here is to do the 30 day extension first, (to get "maximum" value out of the covid extension.)
Then do 60 day covid, and finally a 60 day family.
During my covid extension I will get the funds to apply for one year wife extension during the end of the family extension.
Do all offices have the same service?
Do I need to book? (how?)
For the thai wife extension I know 400 000b have to be seasoned in my bank account for 2 months, and that they do NOT have to be transferred in from abroad. Bank statement has to be from the day I apply. But what's the timeline for the application? How many days do they need to decide? Do I need to apply a month before my final day in Thailand draws near, or is 2 weeks enough?
I am late with my TM30 also. Should I go in (where?) to fix that BEFORE my extension, or can I do it same time, same place?
You guys are providing an invaluable service for people here! Did you ever consider putting up a link for donations? (if not for beer money, it could be for Soi dogs, food donations or something similar, I'm sure many of us would be more than happy to pay it forward) 🙏
Thank you so much for your help, and sorry for my 1000 questions 🙄 If they are too plentiful just answer those you want. Everything helps!
I moved this post to it's own thread because it has abso-tively, posi-lutely NOTHING to do with the post you put it in :/
I am on a Thai wife Visa and recently got a work permit. With salary 50k. I have 2 years work ahead if me. I have to renew in 3 months time. Can I show them a work contract for 2 years ??
If I apply for a visa based on work will I have to switch to a Non B? Due to covid can this Non B be acquired without leaving Thailand. ??
Will the Non O and NON B both count when applying for residency in a few years time ??
