How many different visa are there for Thailand. I’m thinking of moving out there later this year

I'm on the DTV for Workcation (remote work) but am leaving Thailand today after staying for just 3 weeks. I will be gone for 3 months because I have other stuff to take care of outside Thailand. Could there be any issues with staying for a short time on the DTV, then being away from Thailand for some months, then coming back again to stay a month or two? I imagine for the Soft Power version of the DTV that may seems questionable, but for a remote worker like me it shouldn't be an issue, right?
5 year drivers licenses on a DTV - experiences? I'm wondering if those who've applied for a 5 year Thai driver or motorcycle license (or both at the same time) as a renewal from an existing 5 year one that is expiring OR a 2 year one that should be eligible for an upgrade to a 5 year one, did you get a 5 year license or only a 2 year one?
I know Sefton Hanley got a 5 year license in Chiang Mai while on a DTV.
However, in Pattaya and Rayong, they're only handing out 2 year licenses to DTV holders when they go in for their renewals.
Any experiences from other offices?
I have the feeling Bangkok will renew for 5 years, but this is just a hunch.
I'm a Freelance and I've been living in Thailand since February 2022 with tourist + student visa (so definitely a LOT of stamps on my passport haha)
My last student visa ended on the 14th of December 2024. I'm back in France and plan on applying for a DTV visa to come back to BKK on the 23rd of January
My question: as I was previously on a student visa and not supposed to work in Thailand, how do I explain being a freelance and showing them my company registration/invoices for the last couple of months when applying for the DTV visa? 🫠🫠
Not sure if it's a legitimate question or if my overthinking brain is doing its magic again so I figured I'd ask!
Last month got my DTV done from Savannakhet from an agent. I have now travelled to my home country & I will be coming to Thailand to stay for long term.
After going through various posts I came to know that there are many sub categories under which DTV is issued, so I asked my agent which category my visa is granted. I was surprised to hear 'Learn Muaythai'. I am 49 years old, not that fit health wise.
Now my doubts are:
1. Will immigration ask me about my DTV subcategory?
2. Can they ask for supporting documents? I do not have any & my agent is not giving me any documents now
3. If I want to extend my visa after 180 days within Thailand, do I have to show that I will keep on learning Muaythai or I can switch the category?
4. As a DTV holder under this category, can I do digital nomad related activities like working for my clients remotely & get paid out of Thailand?
5. I am aware that if I stay in Thailand for more than 180 days there could be tax implications on the money I bring in Thailand. But is it ONLY for the money brought in Thailand or the total income earned whilst in Thailand? I think I can use my credit card to withdraw & use cash, will it avoid taxation issues?
If I entered Thailand on October 10, but then left the country on November 5th and returned to Thailand on November 12th , do I have to complete the 90 day report from the first time I entered or only the second time if I stayed 90 consecutive days?
Since the DTV was introduced am i correct in thinking that land border crossings are now not limited to 2 per year ? think i seen a post about it on here somewhere.
Are visa extensions at local immigration now 60 days instead of 30 ?
