Quick question for any UK expat who are receiving state pension in Thailand, is it correct if you ask the UK state pension department to send your pension direct to a Thai bank account, you will lose any uplifts to the UK state pensions in the future.
I’ve been scrolling through this group and learning a lot! There’s something I wanted to confirm. I have a USA passport. Currently in Thailand on visa exemption and have been planning to go back to the US to apply for DTV visa in a couple weeks.
I’m seeing that people are applying in countries other than their home country. I was under the impression that I had to be in the US to apply. But does this mean I can go to Vietnam for example and apply there?
Any Experience dealing with any Consulate in the region? we have been told by a couple of them that if I am not a national here I need to have Residence in the area they serve (Cambodia, Thailand...), however they dont tell exactly what that means or how to get it, all they keep saying is to send them photos of our passport, visa and/or any other document to proof residence; to what they say: "it is not what it is needed" and stop replying...
I am on a visa exempt entry, admitted on 29 Nov and valid until 12 Jan.
I am applying for a 30 day extension at BKK office (IT Square Laksi Plaza).
Q1. Can I apply as early as next Tuesday, 22 Dec ?
Q2. I have been staying at a condo rented via AirBnB since 1 Aug (90 days on STV, bounced, 45 visa exempt entry, bounce #2, 45 visa exempt entry #2).
The landlord did not file a TM30. Should I then self-file the TM-30 using As guidance the advice given by Tod in his 13 July 2019 post?
I will also print the AirBnB contract and last 2 monthly receipts (or should I get all receipts since August ?) payments and take them with me just in case.
Q3. Given that I have been in Thailand since July 19, in and out, should I also fill in a TM47 or does the 90 days filing rule only applies when you do more than 90 days at a stretch ?
Thank you kindly for any input on the above questions.
I have 2 months Tourist visa and will extend (in Chiangmai)
Do I need a TM30 receipt at the hotel I stayed in for the first few days when I arrived or just the apartment I'm staying in for the majority of the time?
Good morning to everyone, I'm right back in Bkk, I have a question : just arrived in Bangkok from Europe in extention of visa, and as I bought a condo I am in my own apartment. DO I need to go to immigration to fill any kind of paper to tell them where I live, or the fact that I wrote it on the papers entering the country would be enough??
