I applied for a DTV workation through my own company in Delhi, India, 3 weeks ago. Today, I received an email from the embassy saying that my visa has been approved. However, the details show a single-entry visa valid from February to May, without specifying the reason. Has anyone else faced this issue, and what did you do about it?
I applied for a DTV (workation) from Taiwan. I got a follow up email, asking for a Certificate of entry and exit date From National Immigration Agency.
I uploaded the stamp on my passport as evident but I guess it's not enough.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and advices on the group, it helped me make a solid case.
Some key information:
- Application made online at the Paris embassy on January 11 (I'm French).
- I do online coaching and sent a 40-page pdf portfolio presenting my activity with proof (links and screenshots of my website, Youtube, customers invoices, Stripe money transfers to pro account).
- A Thai woman from the embassy official called me on January 29 to ask me to send them my portfolio in English and my latest personal bank statement with over 500 000 baths, as the one I sent on January 11 was not very legible.
- On February 3, I received an e-mail “DTV APPROVED” with the DTV visa ready for use until February 2, 2030.
Conclusion and advice : The meticulous preparation of my portfolio was crucial and greatly facilitated my success in this project.
All my support for those who are on this journey :-)
That was quite fast. Thanks to all contributors in this group. I didn’t post any questions, just prepared documents based on suggestions and comments here in this group.
Here are my documents:
1. Combined PDF (Employment certificate+contract proving that I am eligible to work remotely from pre-informed countries/places)
2. Combined PDF for 500baht (Financial standing+6mths bank statement+6mths payslips)
3. Entry Stamp for current location
4. Passport (scanned version, not photo)
5. Photo (scanned version, not photo)
Hope this information helps. Now wishing for a smooth entry to Thailand.
Hey guys, I'm trying to apply for the workation visa and got stuck on this page.
What did you all enter on the travel information page?
1) From what I've seen people saying, there is no proof for flight tickets necessary. So I just look up flights and provide airline and flight number? What did you insert at "date of departure" if you intend to extend for another 180d within the country.
2) "Have you ever applied for Thai visa"
Does this include previous tourists visas or only long term visas?
3) Hotel accommodation
Do I need to book a hotel and provide the booking confirmation? The field even asks for a phone number so I'm not entirely sure if I should just input the hotels phone number here.
I couldn't find anything specific in the search so I'm asking these questions in case others may also have issues here.
Hello everyone, I obtained my DTV (workation) visa at the Phnom Penh embassy in Cambodia and I wanted to thank this group for all the invaluable advice they gave me.
Application submitted on December 31, visa validated on January 17 (no additional documents requested).
I provided all the documents requested, and I put together a nice portfolio to present my business in detail. In the portfolio I put :
-screenshots of my websites
-screenshot of my payment processor's dashboard proving my customers' payments
-I've clearly explained how customers make payments on my websites, and what I use to collect payment (Stripe).
It's important that they understand your business right the first time, otherwise they'll ask you for additional documents and questions to help them understand. Providing a portfolio directly with all the important details is the right strategy to get the visa right the first time without asking for additional documents. After that, I think it also depends a lot on the person in charge of your file.
Finally got my DTV approved. Here's how my process went:
Applied at the US Washington Embassy under the Workation Category
- Applied at the end of December
- After 2 days, I received a request for more docs, which were Employment Verification and Location. I provided all of those.
- After a few days, I received a request for payment slips. I provided my deposit slips from clients.
- After a few days, I received a request for my actual IRS tax filing.
All in all, it took 1 whole month from submission to getting approved. I've read some people getting it a lot sooner (few days). But I would budget at least 1 month.
Also, be ready to provide a ton of documents like tax filings, payment slips and anything related to your client work. Its totally normal for them to reach out several times during the process requesting additional documents.
I see a lot of this scattered across various posts. Simply reply here with your date of application, and application details (soft power vs work action).
Once approved, reply to your initial comment with details.
Looks like the consistent processing time is 11 business days (counting the date of application).
