TLDR : Answer Summary
Starting May 1, 2025, Thailand plans to introduce a digital version of the TM6 immigration form that travelers must complete online prior to entry. Although some sources indicate that this change aims to streamline the entry process and enhance tracking of tourists, there have been mixed responses about its implementation, with some community members expressing skepticism about its approval and effectiveness. Many are concerned about accessibility for those without smartphones or computers, and ongoing discussions in the community reflect uncertainty until the policy is officially confirmed.
AI: ”As of now, there is no official information indicating that travelers will be required to complete the TM6 immigration form online starting May 1, 2025. The TM6 form, also known as the arrival/departure card, was permanently discontinued for air travelers in July 2022. For land and sea entries, the requirement to fill out the TM6 form has been suspended until April 30, 2025.
It’s advisable to stay updated through official channels, such as the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Newsroom, for any future announcements regarding entry requirements.”

If you can download it and fill it out while you have an internet connection and save it to your device, so it can be scanned by immigration, all well and good, but what about if it can only be accessed online and you don't have roaming on your SIM card and will buy a local SIM once you've passed through immigration. 🤔 🧐
Question please. If this TM 6 is digital then you'd need to fill it in online. So I presume you will be able to download it while in your home country and fill in the details before you leave because if you don't pay for roaming, plus lack of internet signal in an aircraft how would you be able to download it after leaving your country? No sarcastic replies please.
It used to be a card you filled out,i can't believe the amount of dumbasses saying dumb shit about something so simple... The world is full of idiots thinking everything is a conspiracy and the want to track you everywhere. Heres a clue,Thailand has a huge of cameras everywhere and facial recognition technology works here. And your worried about a landing card😂😂😂
With respect Mark, I don't think that it's people worrying about it so much, more people, unless you've travelled to Thailand a lot previously, they don't understand what it is for.
With respect none of the details give anything away. The main reason is to be able to contact people and be aware if they have overstayed, this may be for safety reasons in some cases. People do go missing. People act like a phone number and email is giving away their life yet they probably fill them in online on a daily basis. Its just a general survey, doesn't seem to have really changed since the time you had to fill them out before you landed. They have these in many countries. I will change my statement to Dumbass, uneducated, untravelled, conspiracy theorists. If you have something to hide thats on that form you probably shouldn't be coming to Thailand anyway.

Maybe, maybe not.
Those things have to be approved by Parlament and be publiced in the Royal Gazette before it can come into force, and yet you wont be sure until the day it is starting.
Several Thai media are much to eager to rumour things like that, as soon as somebody got the idea, but long before it is presented to Parlament, that’s the way media gets attention, clicks on their website and sometimes new subscribers, but most of the time it is rumours, tha will never come into force.
Do everybody the a favor, don’t trust and don’t spread the rumours, it create confusion and uncertainty for a lot of people.
Always check the Thai Embassy website several times in the last month before traveling, that kind of new rules would be found there when it is reality.

My question is how do you track a tourist aren’t you touring the country hmmm. Some don’t stay in the same place for more than a couple of days. Backpackers for example!!!

No...

If it goes the way I think it will then you submit your arrival flight. , passport number, visa number/type , re entry permit and address you are going to live at in Thailand. You should then be able to update your address every time you change accommodation.

According to
The info from the airline in the boarding area in Tokyo, they had a QR code to scan for online registration and instructed people to download it
Starting May 1st, 2025, Thailand will indeed introduce a digital version of the TM6 arrival card, which must be filled out online before entering the country ¹. This new system aims to streamline the entry process and improve tracking of tourists.
The digital TM6 form will require travelers to provide personal details, travel information, and accommodation details. You'll need to submit this information online before your trip, and it's essential to ensure the accuracy of the information provided.
It's worth noting that the current paper-based TM6 form has been suspended temporarily, but with the introduction of the digital version, this requirement will be reinstated ¹.
You should also consider reading a book or two before your travel I'd recommend a book Thailand Unveiled 2024-2025 by James Anderson on Amazon..it has all the info and recommendations you need..you should check it out. A very good companion
it is not official yet, it is not clear whether the digital TM6 will really come. All of this still has to be clarified at a meeting on February 26th. As long as it is not published in the Royal Gazette, it is and will remain a declaration of intent, a wishful thinking. And how often have the Thais announced something and then it has come to nothing? Well, let's wait and see

Just my thoughts, I don't think it will be approved.
The amount of tourists coming to Thailand with or without a visa would overload the system, and I think the government will see that.
I know what a TM6 is. I've lived in Thailand for almost 20 years. It's no big deal, but I can't see how it tracks foreigners. It's very similar to the Australian entry card
