Hello I recently went to extend my exempt stamp at immigration..   Stamp was extended from 2 feb 2020 to 29 mar 2020...   I thought extension was 30 days, just check this again..  Does this mean I am in overstay and have to pay?  Or do they go off the 29 Mar 2020 date..   Very confusing.

yes looks like you better go to immigration and hope they admit their error and show you some leniency, then do a border run asap. Good luck, it's so easy to get caught like this under the current confusing and ever changing system.

Do you know if in these cases you pay the fine, and if your over then what at this point? Or they just let you keep the Date so confused..

You've already used up your 30 days extension so you'll likely have to exit Thailand fairly quickly

Yes, you have to pay a fine of 500THB a day, and if you are caught on overstay, you will be deported for at least one year. You may also not be able to get an elite visa, or another tourist visa in one of the consulates in Malaysia.

yes I accidentally overstayed recently. I paid the 500 baht per day fine and then paid to extend my visa. The overstay counts as part of the extension so you will have 30 days left minus how many days you have already overstayed. They did not stamp my passport as having overstayed.

is correct. Will be overstay if he stays until stamped date regardless of it being an error by immigration.

IF they mis-stamped his passport (which I'm almost 100% certain is what happened), it's his responsibility to get it fixed. It's his responsibility to confirm the date is correct, not immigration's.

So you entered on a visa exempt (30 days), and you went to immigration to get it extended. It is your responsibility to confirm the date on the stamp is correct.

Assuming your 30 days was over on February 2, an additional 29 days (remember, day 1 is the day you arrived) is March 2nd.

I would go to immigration TODAY and confirm the stamp.

Very strange, there is a 30 day Extension of Stay or a 60 day Extension of Stay for family visit. You have a 56 days Extension of Stay, go back to the Immigration Office and please check what the correct date is and get this corrected.
