Hi!

My passport was stolen/got lost. I had a Non Immigrant B visa. 

I got my new passport and went to the Immigration Bureau. I had all the required papers and pictures with me (I thought) but it wasn't enough. 

I need a letter from the embassy in Hanoi (where I got my visa) proving that my visa is real. I was sent to the Department of Consular Affairs. They would call me when they had the paper. They said Monday. 

I haven't heard anything and they don't reply emails nor pick up their phone. 

Do anyone know what to do in this situation? It's pretty urgent since I'm applying for extension and work permit + have to go to my home country soon for a short stay.

Thank you everyone for your help. It's not easy to figure out the procedures regarding visas. Here's an update:

The Thai Embassy in Hanoi sent me an email yesterday saying I had to talk with the Immigration Office here in Bangkok, but ended the email by saying it was impossible and I had to get a new visa (and I was more than welcome to come back...)

So I printed all my papers again + picture of receipt so I could try again.

I first went to the Department of Consular Affairs again this morning and luckily they had my paper from Hanoi that confirmed my visa! They just didn't notify me about it or answered my calls/replied my emails.

So the conclusion is:

You can get your Non Immigrant B visa transferred if you have the letter from the Embassy.

But without the help of Department of Consular Affairs is was impossible for me to get that letter from the Thai Embassy in Hanoi.

Unfortunately I have seen people in a similar situation who were on the initial entry of a visa (in your case 90 days) and those people had to go get a brand new visa because they didn't have their original receipt from when they bought the visa at the consulate.

You don't have your receipt from when you got the visa in Hanoi?

If you just had the visa and entered Thailand to get the 90day stamp and no work permit or extension than the visa is lost.............
