Need an advice urgently!

I went for Visa extension today (Non-B 1year)!

When officer started checking my passport and documents, there was some trouble which still makes me confused. I got my degree from Bangkok University, and been on Ed visa for 4 years! After that, i got TR visa(3 months*2 times), then finally i got a Non-B (3months)! The problem was my last Non-Ed stamp, which i got on 9th October 2015 until 11October 2016! I finished my studies in July, and stayed in country until my Non- ed visa expired (11th October 2016)! All my paperwork from work is completely fine, but the officers told me that my university transcript says that my date of leaving was 30th of July 2016! After that I can't stay in country even though my visa stamp was until October!

So I've been told that i have Overstay for 3 months (from july 30th:last day of studies- 11th October (last day of visa stamp)) and. Ow i need to pay 20.000baht!

What is wrong here? My university advisors are also confused with this issue caused by officers' decision!

bht for the overstay, could he be banned for a year for being on overstay for 3 months previously? I genuinely have no idea how it works in this case.

From July 30th until Oct 11th is 73 days overstay, so under 90 days.

The rule change came into effect last year. I've never come across his situation before that's why I asked if the ban may apply. I've really no idea.

The period for a years ban is 90 days for giving yourself up voluntarily. He stated he was on overstay for 3 months thats why im asking.

It needs to be a longer period, you can look up the overstay rules on Google.

You can't really blame this on corruption at all, at best you can blame the rules for being confusing and/or not given out clearly. The OP thought he could stay on his visa even after finishing studying, but that wasn't the case. His school is probably more at fault for not explaining it better.

You can only blame the person himself. He was NOT on a Visa but an Extension of Stay based on study. So people are big enough to visit Immigration for an application of Extension of Stay but still try to blaim every body for confusing and/or not given clearly information. If you are at Immigration and they want to put a stamp on your request in your passport, can you just before the stamp hits the papers ask what are my responsibilities if this stamp is in my passport?

Failing to cancel extensions of stays when you stop work or stop studying have thrown a lot of people off the rails. I have seen people actually denied from exiting the country until they cancel an extension based on study when going to get a new visa at a consulate. (Not by air, but at a land crossing).

I'd weigh in and say, pay the overstay.

Is the last Non-ED stamp got on 9th Oct 2015 an Extension of Stay based on following education from a local Immigration Office or is it a Visa sticker from a Consulate/Embassy ouside Thailand?

. You were studying on an extention of stay. When you stop studying your extention is cancelled. Its not a new regulation. It's been in place for many many years.

Extension until October if you study, did you go school till October? NO, you stepped out based on University letter on 30th July and that day your Extension should be cancelled by yourself at Immigration.

Same as Extension of Stay based on work, when fired extension get invalid same day, based on marriage, extension get invalid on day of divorce.

You got an extension of stay based on studying. When your study is finished, 30 July 2016 your extension of stay reason got invalid and you had to leave the country on that day or asked for another extension.
