Hi I need some help. I arrived here May 29th and was in an ASQ hotel until June 12th and my visa expired on July 12th. This slipped my mind because of the recent lockdown that was enforced on July 12th. I was supposed to be here for the summer to visit my friend and volunteer at his basketball academy and play in the thailand 3 on 3 premier basketball tournament. Due to the recent 3rd wave of covid and the delta strain everything has been cancelled and postponed. I am really scared and have never  overstayed a visa before in my life in any country. What is my best bet because I don't want to go home. I want to stay here a little longer for a few more months and see if things change. Can someone please help me out please

....You're OK man. Don't panic. The only thing is, normally your extension would be just 1900baht and paperwork. Now, you still have that PLUS 500baht/day that you're over. So...if you go on Monday(19-Jul), that would be your 7th day past the 12th, which means you add 3500baht to the 1900baht. You will most likely get the extension just fine. Just relax, but take care of it on Monday to save your cash. Each additional day will be another 500baht. ;)

You are now on OVERSTAY since July 12th. The fine is 500 Thai baht per day.

Go to Thai immigration ASAP...pay the fine.

Did you arrive into Thailand visa exempt or with a tourist visa?

Either way you apply for a 30 days extension if not already obtained.

If you have already obtained the 30 day extension... Then apply immediately for the COVID EXTENSION of 60 days at local Thai immigration.

probably not a good idea to show a photo of your passport, it has all your details on it, better to edit them out.

go to Thai immigration Monday morning... You will be fined 500 Thai baht per day overstay since July 12th.

Apply for the COVID extension. Cost is 1,900 Thai baht.

Do not delay in getting the overstay cleared up and your new COVID extension stamp in your passport.

and so what to them? I think they gave me the wrong visa in the US and I was confused I thought my visa expired on August 20th then when someone told me it actually expires on July 12th then it slipped my mind because of the recent lockdown

you had three months to use the Transit S Visa... Once you entered Thailand immigration stamped you in for 45 days expiring July 12th.

I applied for my visa in New York before I came and was given a Transit Category S visa.
