What is the process and requirements for applying for a DTV visa online through the Thai Embassy in Sydney?

Update on DTV application online through Sydney Embassy. I applied using soft power with this course [members only]/ For proof of address I gave my drivers licence and a phone bill. Four months of bank statements. Did not need to show proof of flight and accom. Processing time was 14 days, approval email came through on a Saturday. Paid with a Thai credit card, as my Australian credit card rejected the transaction due to fraud monitoring.

I joined one of their seminars last week, and it was really interesting and also learnt a lot about Thai fruits and also in general about fruit cultivation.

I love Thai fruits from fresh markets! They taste so much better than fruits in Australia.

Thank You for your helpful report ๐Ÿ‘

Congratulations ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

You obtained the DTV in Australia...

For those who are thinking about applying for the same DTV visa, be sure to contact the course sponsor for their recommended Thai Embassy's and Consulates that have granted the DTV visa for this course.

Note that in recent weeks, we have seen reports of it being DENIED two times by the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. Even as it was approved by them earlier.

ASK the sponsor before you Apply.

Good Luck ๐Ÿ€

thatโ€™s really good advice for people to ask the course sponsors about recommended embassies and consulates before they apply.

Applying in the home country, and not having a recent history of back to back tourist/ED visas may also be a factor.

Congrats! I will be applying through Sydney sometime in the next week or so. Good to know the processing time for yours.

Did you send all pages of your four months of bank statements? I have had more than the required 500,000 BHT for a long time, and I'm happy to send them all of the statements from the past six or so months but it will be over 30 pages with all the transactions listed ๐Ÿ˜ฑ So I'm not sure if I could just send the closing balances for each month.

wish you all the best with your application in Sydney. Yes I sent all pages of the bank statements with nothing blacked out, so it looks genuine. I used Smallpdf to compress the file online.

Anonymous participant Thanks so much ๐Ÿ™‚ I appreciate that info, I think I will do the same and send it all and compress as you did.

Congrats! Iโ€™m thinking of doing the same if my medical reason gets rejected. I have emailed Sydney to ask first before submitting it in a few weeks time.

As I understand, the Thai course you went with will refund the full amount if paid from a Thai bank account if reject too. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘ Good for 5 years too which is great plus looks like an interesting course.

UPDATE AFTER I EMAILED.. they replied they will only refund 85% if it gets rejected!

my experience with Sydney consulate is that they donโ€™t answer emails ๐Ÿฅฒ

Yes the Thai course people have been great with following up to see how my application was going, and whether I needed any other help. Having a refund policy gives people more peace of mind.

I think some people may have been rejected for reasons other than the course. Eg the embassy has reason to suspect that theyโ€™re working in Thailand.

Anonymous participant thanks for that. I have a week or so to wait for a email reply. Might try Canberra too thanks

Iโ€™m not sure that you can use Canberra if your home address is in NSW. Best to ring them and ask, or email Canberra.

Anonymous participant Canberra already replied from email so probably go through there and medical route seems ok too
