Got my DTV from Royal Thai embassy in London. Very quick process! My learning points were a letter describing your freelance work with examples of work and 23/24 tax return .. I initially sent 22/23 as 23/24 isn’t due with uk govt until end January so had to quickly complete it!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post details the user's experience obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from the Royal Thai Embassy in London, highlighting the rapid processing time and key requirements such as providing a detailed letter about freelance work and tax returns. The user's initial submission of the 2022/2023 tax return was rejected, necessitating a quick completion of the 2023/2024 return, which is typically due at the end of January. Did you have your flight to Thailand booked? We want apply buy don’t have it booked yet, as the outcome of the visa will obviously be our deciding factor if we go their or elsewhere,
You do not need physical proof of a flight booked via London embassy. Can input a tentative flight. Some embassies require evidence of a booked flights
It is valid from the day it is issued. If you apply online, you will be sent the visa via a PDF. You have to keep that and show immigration on arrival to gain the passport stamp.
I haven’t tried yet. I’ll be applying in September when my Ed visa expires 🤞🏻

on the online application it doesnt mention tax returns. assume it may help but also think possible without as many nomads are not tax residents/liable to submit return anywhere
nope I tried that first and they rejected it. Not sure how that will work in that period where the hmrc portal isn't open, April to June ish... will have to be previous years return then?

How many months bank statements did you have to show?
took 3 days in total, most of that was me doing my tax return! Submitted it late day one, by next morning I had queries from them and after I submitted new docs it took about 5 or 6 hours to get visa. Very quick

Tks...They ask you to submit a tax return as a freelancer?
