What happens if I show up in Thailand on a Non O-A visa without health insurance?

Hello.

In case this is useful to anyone on a non O-A visa...

Someone got his multiple-entry non O-A from the Thai Embassy in London in Sept this year. Entered and left Thailand before health insurance became a requirement. He has re-entered Thailand recently but this time he was only stamped in for 1 month.

This is just another experience and an update.

I have the permission to show his visa. The writing in Thai basically explains that he does not have any health insurance hence the 30 days' stamp.

Best wishes!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual with a multiple-entry Non O-A visa entered Thailand without health insurance and was only granted a 30-day entry stamp upon re-entry. This situation underscores the ambiguity regarding health insurance requirements for Non O-A visa holders. While some claim that insurance is not always required, others have noted that recent regulations mandate proof of insurance for re-entry. The experiences shared by the community suggest that insurance requirements may vary and that it is wise for travelers to carry appropriate coverage when entering Thailand.

I'm only going for 3 months so why pay for a years insurance? Now I'm thinking of going back to 60day visa so wasted time and money and back on incorrect visa as I travel there frequently

If you have a Non O-A visa, you need the health insurance for one year because it is valid for one year and it is assumed that you stay long term or travel there frequently (which you do).

what's going on as the PM you sent me says I dont need insurance? I plan on returning 30th jesus sick of this up down yes no business, could anyone give me a straight answer? I have insurance from UK to cover me for £6,000.000

Carl, if you have insurance in the UK already that meets the Thai requiremtn, then all you need to do is take that to the Thai Embassy and show it to them along with the form on the embassy website. They sign it, and you are good to go.

I was in an Immigration office today..Asked about this same thing..was told that reentry on an O-A Multiple entry after Oct 31st will require Visa holder to show insurance..

it should be useful(I think) if he was asked for just health insurance or for health insurance only from companies included in the web longstay.tgia.org

Could be using that clause in the police order regarding second and subsequent entry's pertaining to the period of Health insurance? Who knows

So at this time there STILL is no rhyme or reason on whether people are or aren't asked for proof of insurance on O-A visa entries (whether they were issued before the 31st or after) :(

Roughly says that the person who entered didn't have health inrruance and they were given a ผ.30 (visa exempt entry instead)

And before it all start again as we already see.
@Tod ********
can you shine a light on the Thai text and until that time I close the comments. There has been discussion enough about health insurance policies and the fact that this insurance is only a requirement on the Non Immigrant O-A or O-X visa.
