O/A VISA and the new healty paper .

I landed in phuket on 25.12.2562 with a new o / a visa.  I had to show my health insurance (hansa merkur, 365 days insurance)

  Since my health insurance is valid from departure 24.12.2019, I got the entry stamp until 22.12.2020 (leap year) "only" 364 days to the expiry of the health insurance.

  Immigration worked properly!

  We asked in English and Thai language what is stamped when I leave again and maybe in August (multi) again with the same health insurance.

  Insightful answer, at the end of health insurance = 12/22/2020!

  Now everything has been clarified for me, as everything goes (very well) with the new requirements.

: we are trying to understand this, at the date of the application for an O/A visa, the embassy wants proof of insurance for "a one year stay" from the planned date of entry, so you have to plan the beginning of the validity of your insurance in accord with your planned day of entry. I am sure all embassies and consulates are aware of this and will follow suit when they issue the O/A visa. Matthew did it perfectly right: he directed the insurance to start the validity on the day of his departure out of Germany. He only lost 2 days upon entry ( I guess 1 day was lost to the fact that February is 29 days this year, and the other is the arrival day counting as day 1). I think embassies are aware of this. Best is probably you have a proof of flight and the 1-year insurance validity starts on the same day . . so there will be no problem for Immigration at the airport to stamp you in for a full year

. it is good to know, that there are foreign health insurances who are willing to sign the "tgia-certificate" for a successful application for the O/A visa in one's home country. And that it is valid for the first 365 days, minus the days lost until first entry. Thank you very much,

could you please just clarify, that you firstly had to show the health insurance signed certificate for the application of the O/A visa in your home country's Thai embassy/consulate, before you winged your way to Phuket? Because your post reads like anyone can show up at a Thai border and show the health insurance of who-is-who and will be stamped in. You received a Non-Imm-O/A visa in your home country because you had the certificate & proof of a 365 days valid foreign health insurance, and you timed the validity date correctly to match the 365 days needed from the day of entry onward

At first i put all together and go for new visa to embassy from Thailand in Berlin /Germany.

And yes immigration on airport want/must see a copy of the insurance paper . don't put in baggage , take it together with your passport.
