Anyone knows any details on how and more importantly where to apply for the new one year medical visa 

The conditions etc are all clear, but I cannot find out where to actually apply. Send the thai embassy in Haag a main, but they were not very helpful. Just reffered me to a website that dosnt list the visa yet.

Do I need to apply directly with immigration?

Bumrungrad Hospital sorted my medical visa. It wasn't time specific, it lasted as long as required to be able to fly after surgery which, in my case, was a little over three months. BTW, it is not free!'

I think it was more talk from the TAT. They often rant on about their proposals (like the 90-day visa exemption for European tourists). Unfortunately although the TAT has some great ideas, they never go anywhere because it's the MFA and the RTP that sets immigration policies! My understanding is you get a single entry medical visa and are stamped in for 90 days, so I would imagine you can get a re-entry permit in this stamp. You can also get in-country extensions

Yeah, that was TAT who are responsible for a lot of the misinformation being spread around. They have bright sparks with great ideas and start flapping their gums before they check with Royal Thai Police to see if they agree!

I've only seen one person report getting the medical visa and it wasn't for a year.

You cannot get it from immigration. You apply at a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country.

Brandon Thurkettle Thanks. This is a brand new 1 year multiple entry one. Supposedly launched this just last September. So 1 year validity, multiple entries and 90 days per entry.

Requires treatment plan and show up 800k baht finances.

Only thing i find on Evisa site is the 90 day one (single entry)

Lots of articles on it, but struggling to find more

if you are old enough and have the funds do a non-o based on retirement.

Some embassy allow a non-o 1 year multi entry visa based on retirement.

You would select non-o and instead iof single, check multiple.

I have seen this visa.
