TLDR : Answer Summary
Opening a Thai bank account on a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) can be quite challenging due to strict banking regulations. Most banks require a long-term visa and proof of residency to approve account applications. If you're asked for proof of your residence, it's advisable to bring your lease agreement, owner's ID, house registration, or a letter from your host along with a signed ID card copy. Some users have suggested banks like TTB or ways to avoid ATM fees, such as withdrawing cash directly from a bank with your card. However, recent changes in regulations have made it increasingly difficult to open accounts for those on short-term visas.
mine was 100%. Went in THAT branch, asked, they called me back saying I can do it. Went and did it.

In general DTV is not eligable for a Thai bankaccount.
Most banks would only open Bankaccounts to people on long term visa's ( DTV is Tourist ).
Even when depositing 400.000 - 800.000 Baht for visapurposes, it is almost impossibel to open a Thai Bankaccount.
Banks only want customers, that have had a permanent Thai adress for several months, have a long lease on room / apartment, have a steady income to come to the account regulary, and most important have a proper long term visa ( Which DTV isn’t )
Banks in Thailand are like everywhere in the world, interested in having good stable custormers, that have a permanent address, a steady easy traceable income, and use the account all year round.
That is why the banks are reluctant to give accounts to people on short time ( read: tourist ) visas, and who only spend part of the year in Thailand.
Don’t expect to get a residence certificat, until you have stayed at a permanent adress in at least 3 month, since that is what the residence certificat should confirm.
Furthermore the added attention on whitewashing of money, is an added burden on the banks, so reluctant depositing large amounts isn’t a guaranteed way to open an account.
The value of a resident certificat, had gone down, since Immigration Officers are giving them to people that are not on a longterm visa, or have stayed severel months at 1 adress in Thailand, so even if it is a formal requirement, the bank make up their own assesment of the stability of the want-to-be customer.
That's not a valid reason for a bank. Try moretapay.com or plebqr.com

Thai Bank accounts Now many restrictions due to recent changes, try wise account the exchange rates are that good and the ATM fee isn't big, transfer to Thai baht and withdraw from ATM, no tax charges either
how long have you been doing that? Heard stories of people getting their Wise account closed due to usage in Thailand but i couldn't find many sources. On Wise website it says it's fine but I'm just looking out to get a plan B or even plan C ready
Why should Wise account be closed when used in Thailand?

I saw a video once on instagram , but I personally have not tried it yet, the video was about how to pull money out of your Card without having to pay the ATM fee, which was saying go to the bank with your bank card and passport and ask them to pull money out of your account, that way someone could avoid the 220 ATM fee( bank card I mean debit or credit card Visa or MasterCard )
Anonymous participant 590 I saw that too. One comment was they still charge a fee. The other was regarding what exchange rate are you getting? Would be interesting to know.
The exchange rate was good and you could withdraw up to ฿100K. I tried to do it again 3 years ago and it didn't work. But Pavel says it does and if he's right then it would be good news. If Thai banks want a TIN number.
sandwiched and what can I get with 100 Baht tips lol

It was difficult to open an account on a DTV previously and most often needed an agent. New Bank of Thailand rules mean it might well be impossible now and agents posting they cannot open new accounts.
Simple, bring your lease and owners ID and house registration or if it's a friend or your Thai wife hosting you, instead of a lease a letter indicating this but again, their signed ID card copy and house registration.
