Hi all

Asking for some advice

My visa 60 day visa on Arrival ends march 1st

My monthly accommodation ends February 16th and I want to extend to March 16th in accommodation

To do this I would need a 30 day visa extension

Is it possible to get a 30 day extension before the last week of my visa running out or how does this work

Thank you very much

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on obtaining a 30-day visa extension before their current 60-day Visa on Arrival, which ends on March 1. They want to extend their accommodation until March 16 and ask if it is possible to secure a visa extension beforehand. Responses indicate that while there is no 60-day Visa on Arrival, a 30-day extension can typically be applied for at local immigration offices, with some variations based on the province's regulations.

Yes...

When you can go depends on where you are applying.

Most province immigration offices allow you to apply when you have 30 days or less left. Some larger provinces (Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai) allow 45 days or less left.

And a few only allow you to go during your final week, like Jomtien/Pattaya, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

make sure you go to the correct office. If you entered with a tourist visa that you applied for and paid for, you go to Chaeng Watthana.

If you entered without any visa and received a free 60 day visa exempt stamp, then you go to IT Square Laksi office.

before you visit the Laksi Square office, make sure you are properly TM30 registered in your accomodation. If your landlord didn't register you TM30, Immigration will not service you, i.e. they won't issue a 30-days extension

No such thing as a 60-day Visa On Arrival. I'm guessing you entered on a free entry stamp. Go to your local immigration office and get a 30-day extension. You can go anytime

You don't actually have a visa. You have a free entry stamp. You can go up to 30 days before the stamp expires, except in Jomtien where you must go within the last seven days

Yes I got a visa at the airport stamped January 1st to march 1st

You mean it doesn’t matter the date you go?

sorry, if you want to teach somebody, you should use the correct wording! The correct term is visa-exempt, not "visa excempt"
Henrik *****
Even I can mistype obviously.😉

It has nothing to do with teaching anybody, but to make conversation easier, if the correct terms are used, and there is a big difference between visa exempt and visa on arrival.

I don’t point fingers at anybody, since I remove names from my posts.
