Tourist visa extension in Bangkok.

We had all of our extensions so far in Suratthani, but we are in Bangkok at the moment and would like to apply for a 60 day extension in the Bangkok immigration office, 1-2 days before it expires.

1. Anyone sees a problem doing it Bangkok this time?

2. When you show up close to the expiration date IN BANGKOK - do they give you “under consideration” and ask that you return in a week - or do they just issue it on the spot?

Any advice would be much appreciated 🙏🏽

For a 60 day covid extension In Bangkok 100% you'll get an under consideration stamp and have to come back to that office. There is no other office that will "close the loop" for you on that stamp but the one where you got it

For covid extension you need to print and fill out an online form if your embassy doesn't issue letter. Call immigration number for details of link. I will try and post link later. Don't leave it til last minute to book appointment, you can't book a same day, sometimes visa is done on appointment day, sometimes its under consideration

Will Macc. As well as what Todd has said, every office uses its own form. There's no generic edition available on the internet. You get it when you go to the office

When you show up at MTT,

they hand you the forms you need to fill out to get a covid extension. They have them all stapled together.

A extension of stay based on tourism is good for only 30 days. If you are applying before March 30, you can get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

For the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, they usually give an under consideration stamp

yes, it is available to everyone. However, most immigration offices want a person to get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism first

You should be able to do it if you have a TM30 print out from your Bangkok accommodation. Bangkok issues "under consideration" covid extensions so you will have to return to close it out.
