the only thing that is strange is that we have to jump true a bunch of hoops to get a visa to stay in Thailand. And after that you have to pay tax. It would make more sence if you pay tax you get a visa.

Yes all the time... they (yet) never interrogated me in a room do. First you apply for a thai visa, they approve, and then when you enter country they ask why are you here ?

No problem.. show extraction from chamber of commerce you are the owner of your company + bankstatements to show you have money coming in ( not from Thailand )
