why do so many people think there is some kind of Goldmine to be found in opening a business in Thailand. This may have been the case 20 or 25 years ago but coming into Thailand now and thinking you’re going to reinvent the wheel with some kind of hotel, motel or guest house is like buying a house at the peak pricing. I think most people don’t realize if they want an open a business now in Thailand they have sort of missed the train so to speak the train left the station about 20 years ago. excluding of course new technology.
I think you’re missing the point Ellen I don’t think anyone is squabbling about the 50 K for the cost of the visa. But it’s like saying I’ve got a house for sale only 50 K but you’ll have to invest another 500 K to make the house livable. I think it’s an oversimplification of the requirements saying that it’s the best visa and it only cost 50 K.I think Todd must have been a used car salesman. It doesn’t get much simpler than retirement visa for ฿1900 a year/ 800k in bank for first extension, then 65k per month, and a visit to the immigration office every three months.
your wrong Bart it is the responsibility of the airlines to make sure you have the proper visas for the country they are transporting you to. Most airlines pay no attention to the requirement, but some due.
Not “visa on arrival” that is something completely different. Coming from the US, you would be entering on “Visa Exempt” valid for 60 days with 30 day extension available.
You sound like a little whinny snowflake who thinks the world should revolve around them just to make it more convenient for them. If you don’t like the Immigration rules here then don’t come.
