The things people will say for views 🤷🏻‍♂️ immigration is pretty clear on what’s needed & no one is confused lol (besides maybe the first few days of release or when extensions started happening)

Two different visas for different purposes

Semyon Eyassu walk in. They switched to online recently

Based on my experience with the STV, if they remove it then it will be after the initial 5 years

yeah, I always have. I didn’t need it for DTV, but I got one because $10 is pretty cheap for peace of mind and to avoid road blocks at immigration

Take a dummy ticket in case. It’s $10 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean… why would they give you a 5 year visa for a 4 week Muay Thai or cooking class? Lol

You’ll most likely need to take a course every time to extend

I imagine this visa will never be as popular as it is right now in its first few months.

The number of people that can live in another country for 6-12 months is very, very small.

90% of people take two week to four week vacations once a year.

In fact, I don’t know anyone in real life that can easily move away from home for 12 months - only the people I meet online in nomad style communities.

Well, this group has 9.2k members.

And the general Thailand tourism group has 772k members.

So I would imagine this visa is far less common than many people in this group think lol

So over the last 5 years, I've been in Thailand around 9 months out of 12 each year on tourist visas.

And when I applied for the DTV, I included my employment contract, the invoices I'd sent my client for past 6 months, and a screenshot of my linkedin where every role has the word 'remote' under it (and I believe I have the word freelancer in my title). And I had no issues.

So those are just some ways to cover your bases - as they're looking for evidence you're a remote worker/freelancer (unless you own the biz)
