we werd told if you just get a text then it has been accepted. If its denied you get an email with the reasons why.

My sons girlfriend got a text saying yo collect her passport from VFS and when she did her visa was inside. When i tried to get a visa for a friend last year she got an email explaining why it was denied and about a week later her passport with obviously no visa...... I would talk to the agent as something doesnt seem right.

Is it illegal to rent a condo in Thailand for less than a month?

Some Condos (but not all) don't allow air b'n'b type rentals for short periods as in the past people rent them for parties which are noisy fir other residents. Its not a legal thing its just a rule of that partucular Condo. Many are still available to rent short term.

Im not sure its just 1lot of 800k required. Its usually 800k per visa above 50 years old. I think you are going to come unstuck quite quickly and end up trying to cobble together a visa which might be suitable for one but not the younger members and they are tightening up....
