ah ok. I wrongly assumed that anyone who was in country over 90 days had to do one. You live and learn! Cheers as always for the prompt advice.

So I'm on multi-entry year long Non-Imm visa, 90 day entry (type; O based on marriage). Currently stamped in until late May. Has there been any clarification on whether the 60 day in-country extension can be applied for at the end of the amnesty? Or is that something I should check nearer the time at my local Immigration office?

Easy border. No queues, no questions.

IO stamped me in for 60 days not 90, corrected it on the spot when I pointed it out to him.

First time I've seen a mistake made in 15 years but just goes to show you should always check!

I got mine there the week before last. They didn't even ask to see my original marriage cert, and handed back the signed copy of my passport data page saying they didn't need it. Still, worth taking everything just in case..... They were also fine with accepting my docs in the afternoon - I got there around 2pm and was in and out in 10 minutes.

Couldn't be easier.

perfect - thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated!

If I get the extension and the job doesn't work out I'd be back to square one right? 7 days to leave the country to get a new visa and so on?

cheers - I thought that was the case but thought I'd double check.
