@Tod ********
sir I think we have discussed this before. But what if I say for example just say frig the 90 day reporting and just do the yearly report in and pY the 2000 baht fine each year. Will that catch up with me in the end with the tighter rules. Just a question to reiterate a point not suggesting one should do this and want your opinion.

Last time I arrived I was asked for departure flight information by immigration. It was a first.

A question...if the 90 day reports are ignored and just go in for the yearly report and pay the fine of not reporting quarterly is that frowned apon?

@Benjamin *****
I was wondering as well why it is ill-advised....

Whats the point to get a hotel? You have to go there check in and then check out in 8 hours to be back in time?

I think the OP is walking on very thin ice. Sure he could help but one whisper to the Thai police or immigration and he would be detained for not having a proper work permit.

I am in no rush and in the end it's up to my daughters if they will apply for their Thai passports and I.d.

That was what I thought. THAI consulate and mom's blessings and Thai passport and birth certificates and reams of paper work. Egad this means I will have to talk to the ex. The horror.

As a sidebar...once I get the affidavit the first time can I just use that each yearly visit or will immigration expect a newly dated one. The original approval will be the Thai consulate in Canada.
