What's the process if you missed your 90 day report ( more than 7 days) but you will exit the country and come in before your visa extension? Am I correct in thinking the fine is 2,000 at immigration? If I fly out without paying the fine would I need to pay that at the airport (when I get my re-entry ) or do they only focus on your visa ? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you missed your 90-day report by more than 7 days, you are technically required to pay a fine of 2,000 baht and file a late report. However, many expats report that immigration officials, especially at airports, do not emphasize the 90-day report when processing re-entries. You can exit the country without addressing the fine and still obtain a re-entry permit, as airport immigration seems less concerned with past 90-day reports. Just ensure you complete your next report within 89 days of your return to avoid future issues.
you got your dates switched around, you can file in person from 2 weeks before the due date to 1 week after without any issue at all. On the 8th day after the due date you get a 2000baht fine..
In theory (and by the letter of the rules) you should GO pay the 2000baht fine and file a 90 day report late.
In practice
The immigration people at the airport don't care if you ever did a 90 day report in your whole life.. That's not their job..
So you aren't gonna have any issue getting a re-entry permit flying out or getting back in.. <- meaning you don't pay late 90 day report fines at the airport..
NOW after you're back and it's time for your next 90 day report (89 days from the date you stamp in) whether immigrations will see that you failed to do a 90 day report that was due when you were here last time is anyone's guess.
sir I think we have discussed this before. But what if I say for example just say frig the 90 day reporting and just do the yearly report in and pY the 2000 baht fine each year. Will that catch up with me in the end with the tighter rules. Just a question to reiterate a point not suggesting one should do this and want your opinion.
