you’re not getting much good info here. Best international schools will be the places which also have expats.

Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya and Hua Hin. You should pick your location based on your lifestyle. Me personally, I chose Chiang Mai because of the more relaxed way of life, excellent international schools, reliable internet, great restaurants, the mountains are amazing…. And a good expat community. Your money goes further as well! People complain about the burning season, but that’s just holiday time and affects most of Thailand anyway…

you don’t have to be an expat to join that page. It gives valuable information for anyone intending to visit Pattaya. Such as, convenient travel to and from the airport.

I think you miss understood because I wasn’t clear enough. My fault. The Pattaya expat Fb group has many private taxis who advertise the trip (cutting out the middle man). They charge 1000-1500, depending on size of car. I think you will find the best and cheapest offers on there. Most people who live in Pattaya use this option because it’s the cheapest. I usually pay 1200. Taxis from the airport will cost 2000. Grab is usually 1500-2000, depending on time of day and availability.

what should one do if they don’t like it? Waste their days continuously complaining? The majority of the smog that affects the north, comes from Myanmar and Loas. If pristine air quality is what you require, yes, just move! Stay on Phuket where you can complain about the cost of living and the Russians 🤣 There will always be something to complain about. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day Keith.

the air quality is not “average” rest of the year. Yes historical data can be researched. Join the Chiang Mai expat, Fb page. You get daily updates on air quality. And you also get pedantic senior citizen complaining about air quality, throughout the burning season. The thing is, barring the islands further south, much of Thailand is the same during burning season. It air quality in Thailand is a problem for you, move to Iceland. Nice and fresh there 👍

It varies year by year. Generally, it’s around 1-2 months. I have seen years where it was hardly noticeable. Even in the so called bad times, it didn’t really effect me personally. Chiang Mai offers so much as a full time liveable location, that I can endure the burning season and still feel like it’s the right place to settle.
