I'm planning to apply as a remote worker and have seen posts about applicants being asked to provide payslips and proof of salary deposits in their bank statements. I use two different accounts—a checking and a savings account. My salary is automatically deposited into my checking account, but I keep most of my funds in my savings, which is what I intend to use as proof of 500K. I’d rather not transfer the 500K to my checking account because I’d have to wait a full month for my bank statement to reflect the amount. Any advice on how to navigate this?

A Canadian friend just shared this notice that Canada will stop issuing income letters on 1 April. Fortunately he renewed his non-O visa just recently but will have to figure a new method for next year.

Hello everyone, I will be going to Thailand under the visa exemption scheme with the intent to apply for a non-immigrant O retirement visa. I read from the Thailand Immigration website that one of the options for the income verification is to have a “letter of guarantee” from the local embassy. Unfortunately, the local embassy does not issue this letter anymore. I would like to find out if someone have used a “letter of guarantee” from your bank together with a bank statement as proof of enough income to apply for the non-immigrant O visa?

Does Immigration officers have the power to deny you from use affidavits from Embassy in Bangkok using monthly income method to meet the financial requirements regarding 1 year Extension on Non-Immigrant O Visas?

I ask because I've heard rumors about that in Saraburi.

I understand I can just visit my local Immigration Office to ask about all requirements but I'm curious if they have the legal right to deny monthly income option?

The Swedish Embassy still offers that service to it's citizens.

Thanks!

Helo all,

Have been a long term lurker of this group so have seen the odd question that meets my circumstances and done plenty of searching but I wondered if I could get some takes from informed people. Essentially I think I have two routes to a DTV.

The first route is I am currently employed as a civil servant. I am taking a career break to come to Thailand in May but right now I can provide the bank statement, payslips and a job description/contract that directly states I work "from home" (possible issue is that's the wording is just that, "from home", not "remote" .)

The negatives of applying that route are obvious, that I wouldn't be doing that job whilst in Thailand (more it wouldn't be allowed, than my contract states that anywhere) and I will not be being paid while on the career break, but will still be employed on paper.

Without moral judgment, I see nothing they'd ask for with the Visa though I couldn't technically provide at the current time as my career break hasn't started yet, outside of the possible issue of it saying "from home" rather than "remote".

My second route, is I am also a content creator who has only just gotten to the point I make enough money for it to be a tax concern, so whilst I can provide a Patreon page for my podcast that shows a steady income for many years (it was previously split between multiple people, now it's just me and in my name), I don't have business registration or any tax documents and won't until next year when I'd need to do this.

I'm thinking option 1 and maybe if I'm questioned, then switch to option 2 and volunteer that I have a second income.

What do people think, is that the best plan or should I be more forthright and just go Option 2?

Thanks for any thoughts!

EDIT: I would be applying via the UK Embassy.

Immigration won’t accept my last 15 months of deposits to extend my married visa. They told me I need to get an affidavit of income verification by my embassy, which doesn’t do it anymore. I’ve never had a problem in previous years.

Now. I need to extend my married visa for two months so I can put ฿400,000 in the bank. Can I get an extension for 60 days at immigration or will I have to go to Laos. I haven’t had to do that since 2006.

Are there any immigration offices that accept the monthly deposits without getting the income verification from my embassy?

Hello everyone

I would like to ask those who have been approved of DTV as a freelancer. What do you need to show as a freelancer if you don't have employment contracts with companies and clients? Thank you for your help.

Regarding "remote worker" category and payslips for application via Hanoi in February 2025:

Are payslips necessary to submit or best way forward? Explain situation in a cover letter?

Background: I am employed since March 2024, but for technical reasons, the company I am working for was only able to hire me as a full-time service worker in 2024. This means, in 2024, my company required me to write them invoices and they paid me my monthly salary based upon these invoices. Therefore, I do not have any payslips for 2024, but my bank statement shows the monthly salary transfer.

I am receiving my first salary with a payslip this month in January 2025.

How to deal with this situation when applying? Any suggestions welcome!

I'm thinking of taking a remote job with a different company. Will i need to wait for a payslip before apply for my DTV. I have the required 500,000 bank statement and a rental income agreement, do you think this and the employee contract will be fine for visa approval from UK?
