Can I get a residency certificate if I have a DTV visa? I have my DTV already and I'd like to purchase a bike, but apparently I need a residency certificate to register the bike once purchased.
I got dtv visa and now i am in pattaya i landed today now i am looking for a condo and buy a scooter bike is there anyone who is already been living in pattaya and can help me little bit with this?
Can anybody tell me if i’m eligible for a residence certificate on a 60-day exempt stamp, please? I bought a scooter and would like to transfer it into my name. Need the residence certificate to achieve that, apparently.
Used Scooter Buying: Am I supposed to go to the DMV and register it and change the ownership to my own name? Seems like most expats just buy it and don't register or change the ownership to their name. Also, is buying insurance for it necessary?
Hello - using a friends motorbike and she asked me to help her pay the taxes on it. They havent been paid in a few years as she has been out of the country since before COVID - the sticker says 2561.
Does anyone know if the transport office makes you backpay all the years or just this current year to update the road tax? Dont want to get in trouble or pay a huge fine!
Thank you kindly if you have some accurate information 🙏
I am planning to drive my Motorbike from Surat Thani to the Malaysian Border.
I supposed it would be best that I leave my motorbike for a few days near at the border Thai side rather than trying to bring it with me to Penang or to the Malaysian ferry close to Penang: I think it may not be possible to do that with a newly purchase motorbike not yet registered on my name.
Does anyone has experience with parking the motorbike safely by the border for a few days?
Hi all. Residency certificate question...I'm buying a motorbike in Chiang Mai and will be applying for a Thai drivers license (I have a US passport & motorbike license). I also want to get a permanent Thai sim (as opposed to a tourist sim).
Will I need 3 originals of the residency certificate or will a single original work? If a single original works it'll save numerous trips to immigration!
I have a long-term lease and TM30, so getting the certificate shouldn't be a problem.
Definitely an "everything else" item. Maybe save purely speculative answers, wondering if anyone has actually dealt with a problem like this. Bought a motorbike in Patong from a dealership. There was a literal year of drama and hassle to get the green book (just them not having their shit together and then my situation turned complicated and they still did not have shit together) and the green book finally arrived and my name is misspelled.
I guess I'll start with contacting them, but I live on the opposite side of the country now and it was a painful year trying to get them to deal with it the first time... Next maybe go into the transpo office here and beg for mercy?
