I am currently travelling SEA since March 2024 and have spent most of my time in Thailand. It must have been 8 Months in total already. Last time I entered Thailand via plane, I was pulled out at immigration and was questioned, why I want to enter Thailand again. I am currently in Laos and plan to stay for 30 days - I arrived 3 days ago and plan to go back to Thailand, before going back home to Germany. Now I am quite concerned that my entry will be denied.
What is my best bet? Would a tourist Visa help in this case? I already tried to apply, but I seem to need a permanent address in Laos?! Could someone please help me understand?
My visa exempt entry to Thailand at the Nong Khai post was declined today.
I obtained my new US passport last year. I flew to Thailand twice last year, got 1 extension of the two exempts. And used one border cross from last year. This was going to be my very first entry to Thailand in 2025, I am very surprised to be declined. Did anyone have a similar experience lately ? Supervisor said I stayed too long in Thailand, he said I should go back to Laos and fly to Thailand. But on the paper he gave me he marked (1) and (3), I think meaning they think I work in Thailand, which is nonsense, I don't work. I think we are back to pre-pandemic days, Thailand does not need repeat tourists anymore
Just started my slow-traveling adventure through SE Asia at the end of October 2024 and spent 58 days in Bangkok actually sightseeing and being a tourist.
The day after Christmas I took a 16-day trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia and returned to Bangkok on January 11th, but I am leaving for Cambodia again this Sunday for a two week stay. So my stay this time in Thailand was five weeks.
Next stop is three months in Vietnam, but my original plans had me book the flight from DMK.
I'll do a border crossing back into Thailand from Siem Reap for just 1-1/2 days before flying to Da Nang. I have a confirmed hotel stay near DMK, a confirmed booking on Thai Air Asia for my flight to Dan Nang, along with a confirmed Vietnam visa.
Do you think Thai immigration will give me any issues at the land border crossing coming in from Cambodia? My travel intentions are not to do border runs or border bounces. Just happened to go back-and-forth between Thailand and Cambodia for the past four months. Any advice is appreciated.
Good afternoon. I entered Thailand with DTV in august 24. so i need to extend. I applied under medical soft power and already printed all documents from Bumrungrad hospital. Due to high medical costs and co-pay from insurance, my foreign bank account can’t keep the same balance for months. I printed evidence of income with embassy signature. But if they still want to see a steady balance, I could print a sponsorship letter from relatives. I believe this was meant for emplpyers. Did someone try private sponsorship? I don’t like long bus trips and would prefer to avoid border jumps 🙏
I will be leaving for laos next month and will be applying for the dtv online(obviously). I'm just a bit curious as to what to put down for entry into Thailand as am cycling from chiang mai to Vientiane and the plan was to cycle back and enter at chiang Khong. Would you recommend just picking a flight number and using that or put down border crossing? I haven't started the application as yet, just curious!
So I’m currently in Thailand. I’m from the uk so I have 60 day visa expemption. I want to stay 5 days past the 60 days expires. I am only 60 miles from the boarder with loas now. How easy is it to cross the boarder? Do I simply just walk over the boarder stamp passport and then walk back? (I have not done this before.)
Also- so my 60 days ends on the 14 February does the 60 days get added onto that date. Or just start again on the point I return.
