I’m an Italian citizen with an Italian passport but currently a resident in Berlin, Germany.
At the moment, I’m in Italy and will be flying to Thailand from Rome in 26 days.
Since I have a feeling that the Thai Embassy in Berlin might take longer to process my visa submission, would it be better to select Italy (Rome Embassy) in the second field instead? I noticed someone here mentioned they received approval in just one week from the Rome Embassy.
Honestly, I feel like this is one of those moments when you’re at the supermarket trying to pick the fastest line…and I always pick the wrong one! 😄 So I could really use your advice, or if anyone can share their experience with the Berlin Embassy.
Hi, has anyone already applied for a DTV visa from Germany? What should Digital Nomads Portfolio look like? I don't want to put 350 euros in the sand. THANK YOU

Hi hat jemand schon aus Deutschland ein DTV Visa beantragt? Wir sollte das Portfolio für Digitale Nomaden aussehen? Ich will nicht 350 Euro in den Sand setzen. DANKE
I’m planning to apply for the DTV in Germany but I’m no longer registered there. I’ve been living in Thailand with an ED visa. What can I provide as proof of residence in this case?
Hi Everybody :-) I am from germany. Is it possible to fly to Bangkok, get there the 60 days visa on arrival and than transfer the visa into the DTV? Because the visa needs 3 weeks here but I don't want to wait this time, because I could fly next week.
Now that there are more and more reports on the Internet about difficulties in applying for the DTV, perhaps something uplifting: the approval by the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin, Germany was “painless”.
The requirements were exactly as described by the embassy on their website:
- Scan front and back of identity card
- Scan data page passport
- Planned outbound and return flight date and flight number outbound flight
- Current passport photo
- Accommodation details
- Scan of bank statement showing a balance of at least 500,000 baht
- Scan of business registration
2 documents were not of the required quality and had to be exchanged. That was it.
In other words: at least in my case, I can only say thank you for the quick and correct work of the embassy.
I want to apply for DTV in the next days via e-visa in Germany Berlin consulate, since i am German and this is the consulate i have to use.
I am a Freelancer with own company, so i want to try the DTV for digital nomads.
Has anyone experience with special requirements from Berlin consulate?
I have read, that some consulats want to see financial proof for 6-month.
I own multiple bank accounts and need to send my funds into one account to meet the required 500.000 baht. So i can not show one Bank Statement for the last 6 month with the required funds. Could this be a problem?
All experience and helpful tips are very appreciated, especially from freelancers and Company owners 🙏🏻
