Hi @all, we recently arrived on KS on a non O visa. My wife left without applying for a re-entry permit and received an arrival visa when she returned. she’s been advised to leave and get a tourist visa then return. Once returned the immigration office in Surat Thani can then convert the original Non O visa.
Dowe this sound right and if anyone has experience please let me know, thank you
Hi, Im from Argentina, my wife is Canadian and we live in koh tao. We are legally married here in Thailand. She has a work permit and a one year visa. I want to apply for a"trailing spouse" non o for 90 days, then the year extension that matches my wife's extension at Surat Thani immigration office. Has anybody done this and knows exactly what documents and paperwork I need? Thanks in advanced.
Please, can someone tell me if there’s an immigration office near Koh Samui or ideally Koh Tao where they have successfully received a 60-day covid extension? I need to request a 60-day covid extension, and I’m currently in Chiang Mai and the immigration officer just told me she can only give me 15-day “under consideration” then I’d have to come back to Chiang Mai Immigration. However, I won’t be able to come back to Chiang Mai within that time-frame because on Monday I’m flying to Koh Samui then go to Koh Tao for 3 weeks. My current 30-day extension expires Dec 27 so I still have time to renew it somewhere near the islands. If anyone has had success getting a 60-day covid extension on Koh Tao or at the Samui Immigration Office I’d really appreciate to hear how it went! 🙏
I had a meeting today with The Immigration office in Suratthani. I'm US citizen, 65 years old (NO current VISA)
Here on a VISA exempt, one month extension.
Will be heading to USA to get one, and had some questions for them about the new Medical Insurance regulation.
I was told that if I get a Non Immigrant O-A
with Multiple entry, I can return to Thailand, and MUST leave every 3 Months (or 90 days after returning). at the end of the year, I can apply for an extension, and from then on, I will only be asked to report to Immigration (90 days after entering Thailand) and 90 days after returning from a "Trip outside Thailand" AND Insurance would NOT be required.
She Also said that If I get an A-O (one year) VISA, that at the end of the year when I qualify to request an "extension"
(Along with the banking requirements), Proof of a qualifying Insurance policy WILL BE REQUIRED.
So, Non O ME....90 day stay (4 entries per year first year) NO ins. Second year annual Extension, NO requirement to leave.
Non O-A, (possible ME) 90 day check in, and at the One year mark (if requesting an extension) INS. Required!
Ok, the Question:
What have you heard (from any other Immigration Office)
