Im on a retirement visa here and had the 800,000 baht in my Thai bank. Recently read that 400,000 baht must be the lowest amount maintained in the bank account.
Is this correct as I am unable to see any detail of this for this visa?
What is the impact if the amount is below 400,000 baht?
I have another question, if we arrive on January 10th from the USA we get a visa exempt entry of 60 days currently correct? If I book our return flight in April around the 25th can we do a border bounce by land or air and get visa exempt for 60 days again???
How early before my current extension expires can I apply for a new one?
I have a non-o Thai wife visa extension expiring on mid november and I intend to travel abroad around october / november, so I am wondering if perhaps I could do the visa extension a bit earlier than one month before expiration, like 45 days or so?
Doing the calculation considering the one month process before the final stamp, getting the extension earlier (like late September) seems to be the option that fits my travel plans better but I am not sure if there is a rule about it or not. (Bangkok immigration)
In case I didn't explain correctly, here's a summary of my situation and my tentative plan:
- extension of stay valid until 14 november
- want to travel abroad from 28 oct to 28 nov
- want to apply for visa ext on 20ish sept, so pickup date should be around 20 october
Can someone send me a link to the Thai website where they will publish the official visa information/ new extension rules? I saw it somewhere in this feed, but can’t find it now.
I’m getting mixed messages about the 800k baht requirement for the non-O extension even before reading the 5th check box. Is it needed in there for 2 months or 3 months prior to application in the Phuket immigration office?
I was talked into applying for non o visa based on retirement by Khorat Imm. Instead of based on marriage because "it was easy". I hope to pick up my visa on the 28th Nov, my question is, once I have the 90 day non o, in 60 days after can I apply for extension based on marriage. I have all the qualifying docs but was niave. I had no definate answer on other forums.
