Was anyone who was on a non B before covid, did the amnesty and then all the extensions able to extend again? I know the people who had a tourist visa at the beginning were able to extend, I'm only interested in anyone who had a non b before covid started. TIA
Frequent visitor, arrived 01 January from the UK with 60 day Tourist Visa. Scheduled return is April 1st, but would happily stay another month until the end of April, visas permitting. Am I right in thinking I have to apply for the regular 30 day extension before (assuming the scheme is still running) applying for a 60 day visa amnesty extension?
We are getting reports of people a various offices being told that the covid program has stopped. :O It has not. .. :/
No matter what you're being told the current covid extension program runs until Jan 25th right now.
What has happened is the government passed an amnesty (like they did from March 26 - Oct 31 2020). This one runs from Dec 7th until Dec 31st 2021.
That means anyone who has a stamp expiring between when the amnesty was implemented Dec 7th - Dec 31st AND is leaving the country by 11:59PM Dec 31st does NOT need to get any extension and they will NOT be charged for overstay when they stamp out.
For people who are going to continue to stay IN the country on covid extensions this amnesty doesn't affect you and you should go apply for your 60 day extension like you planned.
At Muang Thong Thani Immigrations here in Bangkok, they are now having people sign a form stating you do NOT want the amnesty (as you're not leaving by Dec 31st) and instead want to apply for a covid extension.
One more time, the current 60 day covid extension program has not been cancelled, not stopped and runs until Jan 25th
BUT
With that being said, remember this most recent police order that continued the 60 day covid program from Nov 27th to Jan 25th specifically said they will be more strict in issuing these extensions.
AND
you might be asked for proof of onward travel (during the time your new extension would expire) OR you might be denied.
Please understand people that these covid extensions are NOT something foreigners here have a right to have :( not by a long shot. They are totally 100% issued at the discretion of the office/officer.
Here's the letter people are signing at MTT now saying they are not taking amnesty and want a covid extension
Covid extension on expiring STV experience, can you really stay longer than 9 months without leaving the country?
Let me briefly share my experience...
On 18th Dec my STV will expire for the last time, and in theory I am supposed to leave the country because I have used both of my extensions.
However, I decided to go to my local immigration office in Nakhon Si Thammarat and attempt to get a covid extension, otherwise my options would be a visa run to Cambodia.
The covid extension was successful, and all I needed to show was a copy of my passport and visa + extension form. No medical insurance required.
So, if you have used all you STV extensions totalling 9 months, don't worry. Go and try to get a covid extension, as they are likely to extend the covid amnesty well into 2022, from what the officer told me.
Please note* this experience was easy and unique for me, however each immigration is different. I know that they also extend STVs beyond 9 months in Samui. I have attached 'evidence' of my experience in a photo below.
With restrictions and potential lockdowns coming.....I have a question.
Anybody here last April/May was immigration still operating normally? I have an extension due in a few weeks for my ED visa and just wondered what happens if the worst happens. Thanks in advance.
I'm in BKK, arrived on TR30 and on CoViD19 visa extensions since the visa amnesty expired and have never done my 90 days reporting, but one immigration officer today reminded me to make 90 days report.
When is my 90 days started and do I really have to make 90 days reporting?
