I am trying to get my visa to teach in Thailand. The school sent me all the paperwork and I sent it in to the Los Angeles consulate. Now the consulate is asking for a work permit before they issue the visa.
The school says they have never had to do it this way before usually the visa is issued and then the work permit. They are trying to get a work permit but they need copies of all the pages of my passport... which is at the consulate. I called the consulate and they were very rude and told me they will not issue a visa without the work permit. They said they would send the copies of my passport but it’s been a few days and they haven’t done it yet.
I don’t know what to do next and I am very frustrated. Any suggestions.
Hi everyone! I heard from my new school that the Foreign workers administration stopped issue the WP3 due to the COVID-19, and without that document, I can not apply for a work visa (I'm out of Thailand now). Does anyone have any idea about this? Any school got this doc recently? When do you think they will resume the application?
Hi everyone, I’m left a little confused as to how I should go about getting a WP3 for myself, as the managing director of a private limited company. I am currently getting a lawyer to set this up for me and understand how to overcome the 2 million capitol issue but it seems I’m unable to get the Business Visa without a WP3 and unable to get the WP3, without showing the social security payments for 4 Thai employees. Also having the provincial Labour department coming to check on the Thais, employed by my business. I’m hoping someone can offer some advise as I’m a bit unsure if this being the case why would anyone be traveling outside Thailand to get a business Visa and so avoiding the 4 Thai employees requirement. I could just get a year Visa in the immigration office as extension of stay, if you need to show this to get a work permit. My business is a small start up and currently can’t employ 4 Thais full time. As the managing director, am I unable to get a work permit unless I meet the requirement of 4 Thais employed if I wish to travel outside to Malaysia Penang to get my Visa. How can I get the WP3 in this situation?
I'm going to Kuala Lumpur to get my first Non- B visa in a few weeks. I've been told that I need to leave the country, send a photo of my exit stamp to the business accountant who will then take 3 days to process paperwork. Only then can I go to the Thai Consulate to apply for the visa. Is this correct? Is there a faster, more efficient way to do it? 6 days in KL seems a long time!
I got a Job Offer while I am on a Tourist Visa here. They explained me that for them to start the Work Permit process, I need to leave Thailand for at least 7 days, since they will do it under WP3.* (never heard about it)*
After that, they will PDF me the WP3, and only then, I can ask for an appointment in KL Embassy to request a Non Inmigration B visa, where it will take 2 days this process.
Unfortunatelly, the HR lady didnt seemed to know much about the whole process and that makes me Doubt about it.
My question is, Is there another way to process the Work Permit while you are in Thailand? I know you must leave to switch to Non-B Visa, but first time that I hear about 7 working days for WP3.
Anyone got a current list of paperwork for the savanakhet consulate, for a teacher's Non-B ? The website makes no mention of WP3 or criminal records check.
