Many people recommend the online language course called "Learn Thai from a White Guy" by Brett Whiteside.
I want to buy that onlline course, but I'd be curious to learn if anyone would recommend something to supplement it, so that I might be able to go back and forth between two. Another online course or app or YouTube channel, etc.
Anyone know anything about getting the DTV if you have the money and *only* saying that you plan to learn Thai? Which I do plan to and far more seriously this time although I may not have to use the DTV
Once upon a time, I did the right thing by studying Thai for a year before signing up for the Elite visa. It was a tortuous 3 hours a day, five times a week. After completion, I was happy to give them 400k baht. Sadly, I was denied and ridiculed for having a student visa. Later on, I realized that it was just pure greed. They are willing to accept my application at the new price of 900k. There is a happy ending to my story. I just received my DTV for 10k. Muahahahahahahahaha
First of all, thank you to everyone in this group who has dealt with all of my newbie questions so far. You'll have been very helpful.
Does anyone have any suggestions for accredited Thai language schools in Nonthaburi that can sponsor an education visa? I have been putting a lot of time into studying Thai while I'm here and I would like to change my visa situation, so I would like to look more into this option. Anything near the Pakkret area would be great.
I am an American and have traveled the world most of my life. Too many countries so never learned anything more than a few phrases of various languages.
At the age of 57, not sure if I can even do it?
Any subliminal learning techniques so I can listen while I sleep?
Do not mind purchasing a good program if that is best.
Those that have learned I would like to hear from you. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone had a good experience with learning Thai online? I'm still planning to take a class when I get to Thailand, but I'd like to get a head start. I have not been thrilled with my experience thus far. I have a bit of a hearing problem, that combined with the challenges of Thai (tone, alphabet, vowels swirling around the consonants...) have made me feel overwhelmed and not certain where to start. Any recommendations? I tried a one-on-one tutor who just read a bunch of random words and expected me to immediately be able to repeat them back. That was NOT helpful. lol. Memrise, my goto platform for language, has not tackled Thai.
Is it possible to get an education visa for learning Thai at the moment? How would I go about getting one? I want to join my girlfriend who lives and works in Bangkok. Do I have to write to language schools or universities in Bangkok?
