Hello. on the website of the Thai consulate in Vientiane it is written that visas are issued after two business days, not counting the day on which the application is submitted. An example is given, submitting the application on Monday morning, receiving it on Wednesday afternoon. Apply on Friday morning, pick up on Tuesday afternoon. My question is, does it ever happen that the visa is ready earlier? I'm asking about this because someone wrote in another thread that the visa can be collected the next afternoon.

Has anyone experienced getting a visa in Hanoi recently? (or through any other embassy / consulate that requires an "appointment" to be booked online).

I'm slightly confused by the following instructions:

Help! I'm unable to reach the Thai embassy in Laos by phone, and when I try to email, the email bounces back. Anyone know a.) whether they're currently operational, and b.) how many days it takes to get a Thai tourist visa at the embassy there?

I want to go to Laos for a 60 day tourist visa but the booking in Vientiane is full until the 14th. Do I need an appointment for Thai consulate in Savanakhet or just Vientiane? I prefer Savanakhet anyways, just harder to get to from CNX.

Reading the comments here, it seems that Phnom Pehn is a pain even with a clean passport. Does anyone have recent experience of applying via lucky lucky motorcycles with a clean passport (to avoid having to provide flights and speed up the process from 4 to 3 days)? Failing that, any recent updates on Vientiane process? I'm not planning to go till the end of June but like to get my ducks in a row and plan ahead, especially given the new Vientiane appointments that are required. Thanks in advance.
