If someone wishes to invite their child of 20 to visit them in Thailand and they (the parent) holds a non o based on being married to a Thai. What proof is needed for the child to visit their parent and what visa.
This is based on the child wanting to visit for the maximum amount of time. What is the maximum amount of time the child can visit.
Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 20-year-old child of a parent holding a Non-O visa (based on marriage to a Thai citizen) cannot apply for a visa as a dependent due to age restrictions. The child must secure a visa independently that aligns with their reason for visit. Options include the Short-Term Visa (STV), allowing stays of up to 270 days, or the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV), which may permit stays of up to 8 months with careful planning.

A foreigner cannot apply for a visa/extension based on being a child to a foreigner who is on Non-O being married to a Thai regardless of the age (No dependent to a dependent) anyway.
The visitor needs a visa to suit her purpose of visit/stay.

The reason for the post is rather I'm aware of how long an 'adult' can stay on a tourist visa bur wondered if he could piggy back if he wished to stay for longer (1 or 2 years), without having to do the visa runs etc.
