This may help anyone with special charcaters in their name!💥💥

My husband who is a German national spells his name with an Ö. His passport says that spelling in the name secrion but In the machine readable part of passport it says an O like an International O.

His DTV was rejected recently because of this. Because of just this.

We have to re-submit a new application with a certificate certifying that’s both Os are same.

Has anyone else experienced such an issue?⁉️⁉️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the issue of visa applications being rejected due to discrepancies caused by special characters in an applicant's name. A user shares their experience with a rejected DTV application because their husband's name, which contains an 'Ö', was represented as 'O' in the machine-readable section of the passport. They mention needing to certify that both spellings are the same for reapplication. Another comment highlights a similar problem where a middle name led to a visa rejection.

Not quite the same but I had a visa application rejected (though otherwise flawless and 100% in compliance).

My name. In the application I provided my first and last name. My passport says my first middle last name. It did not state ‘name as it appears on your passport’.

So I had to pay again providing my middle name changing nothing else. 🙄
