What should I do if my Airbnb host doesn’t know how to file a TM30 in Thailand?

Hi guys, I have a new problem today. I just found out that my Airbnb host does not even know what a TM30 is and we’re arriving to CHiang Mai today. We are educating her, but I’m not sure if we will be able to file the TM30 with her within 24 hours.  We have a tourist visa and are planning to apply for an extension in CHiang Mai next month. 

In this case, does anybody have any alternatives to file TM30? I was thinking of booking a super cheap hostel just to get a TM30 from them. 

Any suggestions are welcome!

Last thing I heard (that I could verify) was Chiang Mai wasn't requiring a TM.30 receipt for people on 30 day visa exempt entries OR 60 day tourist visa entries when they went to get the 30 day extension at the immigration office.

then you won't need a TM.30

And there is NO back up plan if you do, If the land lord doesn't do it and you need it you pay the fine to get your extension or you don't get an extension

Really? I thought CHiang Mai was strict about it even with tourist visas.

The reason I ask is that Chiang Mai doesn't require a TM.30 receipt IF you're on a tourist visa entry OR a visa exempt entry to get an extension.

We are educating her now, but I’m concerned that we won’t have enough time to complete the registration given how she did not even know what a TM30 was. So I’m trying to figure out a backup plan.

I have been working all over Thailand for over 14 years and never once has any immigration officer asked me to present a TM30, I have never been late on any 90-Day reports and only had 1 day overstay because I had to wait for proper documents from my employer (they actually paid the fine for me and wrote a letter explaining why I was one day overstay), I guess I must be one very lucky person

while the fact you've never been asked for a TM.30 AND the fact you've managed to be here 14 years are both anecdotally interesting (slightly) THEY have nothing to do with the facts that more and more immigration offices requiring a TM.30 for ANYTHING to do with that office (re-entry, 90 day report, resident certificate, extension etc).

Edward ... you must be very lucky. When we went for our first checkin at Nakhon Si Thammarat, they fined us for not having done a TM30 within 24 hours. Additionally, they make us renew it every year.
