I entered Thailand already a few times since November 2023 via BKK.
My visa is now until 1st of Feb. I am staying in Koh Phangan. As I planned to stay here 4 months I am thinking about doing a visa run to get another 60days before doing extension to 90days and visarun.
Is there anything I should pay attention to here?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A German expat staying in Koh Phangan with a multi-entry tourist visa (METV) until February 1, 2024, inquired about planning a visa run to obtain an additional 60-day stay. Comments from the community highlighted the importance of understanding the type of visa held, timing the border crossing close to the visa expiration for optimal entry, and ensuring all necessary paperwork, such as TM30 registration, is in place for a smooth visa extension process.
I believe that the OP has the answers needed for her questions. Thanks all for your helpful replies. We wish her safe travels βοΈ as she continues to use the METV multiple entry tourist visa in her travels.

These are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. Be sure you have a TM30 address registration on file with Thai Immigration.
thank you!! Now I understand the difference π itβs definitely a border bounce

I had replied to you when you sought to Post this an hour ago.... Asking for clarification on what kind of multi-entry Visa you have ?
DO YOU HAVE A METV MULTIPLE ENTRY TOURIST VISA which you obtained from your Thai Embassy in Germany BEFORE you flew to Thailand?
Or did you buy a SINGLE ENTRY TOURIST VISA SETV while you were in Germany?
I think you have a SETV... And you were STAMPED in for 60 days when you arrived into Thailand in November 2023... and in January 2024 you got a 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.
IF that is what you have...
Then you can do a simple LAND BORDER BOUNCE to get a NEW Visa Exempt Entry into Thailand. Gets you 30 days STAMP on arrival plus One 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office.
then you have the METV multiple entry tourist visa.
You can do a simple land BORDER BOUNCE or by Air βοΈ to leave Thailand and reenter same day is possible if you want... And will get a New 60 Day STAMP on arrival. Plus one 30 day extension of stay at Thai immigration office.
Your METV multiple entry tourist visa is valid for Entry into Thailand for 6 MONTHS FROM THE DATE IT was ISSUED.
NOT π« the date you first arrived into Thailand.
Print out the Evisa email you received with the METV... or if you have a visa sticker in passport, show it to the Thai Immigration Officer who greets you on arrival into Thailand.

Pay attention to the validity date of your visa and time your border crossing as close to the last day of that as possible. You may struggle to get another tourist entry after that whether on a tourist visa or visa exempt

If on an METV, yes, make a border bounce as close as possible to the expiry date of the visa, it is valid for 6 months from date of issue, and get your last 60 day stamp on entry, then extend 30 days at immigration. After that you'll need to leave or if possible transition to a different visa in country.
