wow thks great info. I try to remember what we had to put on it. Hotel address and passport. Cheers. I will be coming back from Laos. First time here. Are there taxis after the Thai border post? I need to get to Udon T airport. Thanks ππ
Tuktuks will very willingly take you to the bus station at Nong Khai, where you will find a bus to Udon Thani for sure.
But there are probably taxis too. I did not really pay attention to them though. I was headed for my bus and got jumped by eager tuktuk drivers that may have overpriced my journey just a smidge.
if you ever need to get from Nong khai to udon thani, try the train, it takes about 40 mins, costs ΰΈΏ11, an old fashioned diesel train with the big windows that slide down, great fun!!
If you use a online booking service like 12Go Asia, you can usually choose seats. And sometimes there are seats with amazing legroom for this short trip.
I've been on the train a few times from Nong khai ΰΈΏ11, takes about 40 mins to udon thani, an old fashioned diesel train, it was good fun, it's only about 10 mins to UD airport from the train station, you can get a tuk tuk outside the station, or get the grab application and book a taxi.

Sorry to ask I don't know too much about this.... If you are on a non O marriage visa which is for one year with a 90 day reporting why are you doing border runs ?
I have a multiple entry Non O 1yr visa married to a Thai, which i got in Savannahket you have to stamp out every 3 month's but if done right I can get 15 months from it, also didn't need to show funds when I got it, also no immigration visits to my house or photos of me and my wife here there everywhere I'm ok with this as it suits my needs , I only have report in with my TM30 which is online all good sorry if I didnt explain this good enough.

Hi Harris
Could you point me in the right direction for the online TM 30. We are still physically going to the immigration office every time we return from staying in a hotel. I live in my wife's house. I think you explained the 0 visa thing quite well. That's why I am asking about TM 30.
To tell you the truth I'm not real sure mate I think there is only 2 type's or variations on this status married to a Thai, unless someone else can chime in and correct me.
Got to do what you have to do,there is no use complaining about the rule's and regs, Driving myself is a lot less stressful than relying on other modes of transport .πΊπΊπΊ
it's not so bad...I've driven more than once from Adelaide to Melbourne, Australia and vice versa which, when I last did it was almost 11 hours with a couple of short food/toilet stops.
I drove from Melbourne to Cairns in just 3 day's in a dirty old Nissan blue bird wagon, can't remember how many times the cops stopped and asked me when I was actually getting shut eye what am I doing way out here, 555 those were the days π π
true, I was a lot younger when doing those distances. Still, only a little over a year before retiring, I still do 7.5+ hours heavy vehicle driving each day, albeit with a meal break plus 2-4 breaks of up to a few minutes each day. It's getting very tiring now though.
yep I drove to Savannahket to get my visa that was 9 hrs one way π³ but admittedly return trip was over 3 day's I earnt my beers that week π πΊπΊ
