I'm flying Dec 4th with arrival on the 6th. Does anyone know the latest on the new ETA system, supposedly starting December? I can't seem to find anything other than it's to start December.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The launch of the new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system in Thailand has been delayed beyond the previously announced date of December 1, 2024. There is currently no operational ETA, and no definitive start date has been provided. Additionally, a THB 300 Thai Travel Tax is under consideration, pending Cabinet approval in January 2025, which may affect the ETA timeline. Travelers are advised to disregard rumors until official announcements are made through the Thai parliament and publicized in the Royal Gazette.
Do never listen to rumours, until they have been through the Thai parlament, and have been publiced in Royal Gazette.
This is one of those rumours that didnโt pass Parlament.

The ETA launch has been delayed past the original December 1, 2024 timeframe. Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports plans to introduce a THB 300 Thai Travel Tax, pending Cabinet approval in January 2025. This tax, requiring pre-arrival online registration and payment, may affect the ETA timeline.
