Hey Guys, sitting right now at the Samui Immigration and wait for my Extension Stamp.
Visa : TR(arrival 20th of dec, ASQ)
Extension : 30 Days
My Stamp expire on 17th of FEB.
No problems to apply for the extension so early.
Its my first extension, so no 60 day Covid extension for me.
Cheers, hope I could help somebody with this information.
Thank you again to the admin team of this group.๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their experience applying for a 30-day visa extension at Samui Immigration, mentioning their TR visa and the early timing of the extension application. They clarified that this is their first extension and that they are ineligible for a 60-day Covid extension. Comments indicate that tourist visa holders entering recently need to first apply for a regular extension before being eligible for any Covid-related extensions.

yep, that is what it seems to be. People who recently entered on a 60 day tourist visa or a 45 day visa exempt entry have to get their 30 day 'regular' extension first before they can apply for a covid extension
most immigration offices allow you to apply for a new extension of stay when there is 30 days remaining on your current extension of stay.
In most situations, the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 begins when you get the stamp, and is not added on to your current stamp.
