What are the current visa extension procedures for tourists in Thailand who have been on COVID extensions?

Report: came in tourist exempt and have been on covid extensions since 2020 and my visa expiring on march 25.. went to MTT at the beginning of March and was told It’s too early, come back a week before expiration with a flight ticket proving I am leaving…

went back today and everything went smoothly, I was not asked to show my flight tickets. got stamped 60 days added to May 24 (not an under consideration stamp) arrived around 1:30 and finished at 4pm …

there were many signs saying please go to the fourth floor to get que tickets for counter K (its actually on the third floor) I went to the fourth floor as the signs instructed and no one was there,but there were what appears to be new looking jail cells .. so be on your best behavior.
