Some local expats told me that the Chiang Mai immigration office is open on Sundays for filing the TM30? Can anyone confirm this? If so, what are the hours?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Chiang Mai immigration office is open on Saturdays and Sundays, but only for the reception on the ground floor, and it handles TM30 filings primarily for repeat applications on weekends. For first-time submissions, it is necessary to return on Monday. It's advisable to have the correct address ready, preferably in Thai.
Weekends it is only for repeats. If it is your first TM30 they will tell you to come back Monday.

Sat. & Sun. open ground floor reception only (not open upstairs, upstairs open Mon-Fri). Must have your correct address (in Thai is helpful to them) - mornings and early a'noons.

Even immigration can’t get it right. It’s not “foreigners” that “need to register/update”. It’s the landlords.
