Hello! As I already figured out, I need a letter from my school, saying I stop studying there to change to the "covid visa". Now my school (which has given us tons of problems already) doesn't wanna write the letter - well, she would for 5000 Baht. Is that even legal? Plus she is threating to get us blacklisted (if she can even do that), because obviously people were upset. Anything we can do? I called immigration and they said I need that letter, I can't just let the visa run out (but not 💯 sure, because of a language barrier).

The way it works IF you are on an "extension of stay" based on education (LOOK in your passport at your stamp) is

You get a letter from the school saying you stop studying on xx date (usually the last day of your current extension of stay), you go to the immigration, they cancel the current extension you're on and stamp you in until the date on the letter THEN you can apply for the 60 day covid extension.

Now whether your school charges you for the letter is totally between you and the school you enrolled in BUT I don't think any immigration office is gonna sell you a covid extension without you first canceling your ED visa extension.
