Do I need to file a new TM30 upon returning to Thailand after traveling to Hong Kong?

I have just got my retirement Visa and will be leaving Thailand in April to Hong Kong just before my 90 days.

I am in Hong Kong for 4 days doing tourist stuff.

My TM30 wasn’t given an expiry date when I went to the immigration office in Jomtien.

My question is do I need to file another TM30 when I return, or is my current TM30 still valid.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether their TM30 form remains valid after a short trip to Hong Kong, following the acquisition of a retirement visa. Responses indicate that while some immigration offices may require a new TM30 upon returning, others may not. It is suggested to check directly with the Jomtien immigration office upon return for confirmation.

Do it, it's free and took me 10 minutes in Jomtien this week.

When i was at Jomtien for an extension, I had to renew my tm30. I thought maybe because I was ona visa exempt entry, so I clarified with the IO. Even if on a 1 year extension and leave Thailand, a new tm30 is required. That lesson cost 1600฿ 🤣

funny to see how matters are handled in different immi offices. We went to a hotel in Udon Thani for 3 days recently and when we returned home I asked our immi if we should file a new tm30 ( I asked on the Line app) and the answer was yes!

@Kim ********
so basically every time you move anywhere you go you file one even if you return to “base” so to speak?

yeah from now on - that's what immi told me. I do it online - takes a couple of minutes

At most offices you have to file a new TM30 once you come back into the country

BUT

you will have to check with Jomtien when you get back.

Some people reported that they were not requiring a new TM30 when you come back to the same address you had one filed at

@Tod ********
that is largely the case. Was never an issue for me in over 9 years at the same address.

, I left country a couple time last year. And returned file a TM30 at Jomtiem. But on the second occasion the Immigration officer told me no need to do it again if was returning to the same address.

if you have an account and added the address and know how to use the system yes, you can indeed file a TM30 online
