Hi everyone,

I'm currently on a non-B visa which is tied to my work permit. I changed jobs during the covid situation but am still working part time with the old employer. The old employer isn't going to cancel the visa or permit as long as I keep on working as part time, but they won't renew it when it expires in December. I would like to change my visa to a non-O marriage visa so that my visas aren't tied to the work permit. 

My question is whether I can do this now during the amnesty without leaving the country by cancelling my visa and work permit, or will I be made to wait till the visa expires in December?

I don't really want to wait till December and then have to leave the country and return to do a quarantine.

What are my options?

then you would cancel the extension you're on now and immediately apply for a new yearly extension based on marriage to a thai (by meeting the financial requirements for that extension)

you would get a 30 day under consideration stamp and then go back when that's up and get the year extension inked in. That way your extensions would not be thai'd :O err tied to employment but to marriage and losing or changing jobs would not affect you

you also don't have to wait for this current extension based on employment to run out to change. You can have the employer write a letter stating you want to stop the extension based on employment because you are changing the reason to marriage and go do it when ever you meet the requirements.

, this amnesty has nothing to do with what you're doing. You're not ON amnesty now, and all you're doing is changing the reason for your extension from one based on employment to one based on marriage.
