Does a visa need to be renewed on the expiry date or can it be done the day after?
*edit* there's definitely a 'type' here who have nothing positive to offer anyone. Why so miserable? ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Also, the correct answer was 'yes' it can be done the day after. And I didn't even have to pay a fine for my overstay ๐ค๐ฝ

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, a visa can be renewed or extended the day after it expires, but it may incur a fine for an overstay if done late. Generally, it's best to apply for an extension before the visa expires to avoid penalties. Users in the community acknowledge that while extensions are feasible after expiration, extending as early as possible is advisable.
I wasn't 100% sure hence why I asked. But thanks for your helpful input... ๐๐ฝ

An extension of stay for a Visa can usually be applied for 30 days before it expires and you lose no days. If you apply a day late you will pay 500B for overstay and lose one day from your extension.
, you don't lose a day if you apply late, the extension is still 30 days. If your exemption/Visa expires on the 9th of Feb whether you apply for the extension on the 15th Jan or the 10th of Feb (the day after expiry), your extension will still end on March 10th. Applying late just means you are fined, and your extension date doesn't become 29 days instead of 30. It is based on your entry stamps' required exit date.
Not so. The extension will be dated from the original allowed to stay date. If you apply 10 days late youโll be fined for those 10 days and get an extension for 20 days.
