Can a stamp from a previous SETV affect my application for an Education Visa in Thailand?

Hi guys, I got this stamp on my passport when I did my last SETV in Ho Chi Minh. Short history:

- this is my 3rd SETV this year (4th lifetime)

- all my previous SETVs were taken from my country, Romania this being the first that I get from nearby countries

- between my 1st and 2nd SETV this year, I stayed more than 3 months outside of Thailand

Ideally for me, I would apply now for a Education Visa and get it from Laos or other nearby country. Do you think this remark I have in my passport for my last SETV visa can bring with it a rejection for my future ED visa?

As stated in my long post today, that stamp only affect further tourist visa try, not any other form of visa attempt.

That stamp can affect further tourist visas. It does not affect your getting an Ed visa.

 Vientiane also safe. My friend was there last week for Chinese ed visa. His school made a mistake, he had to come back the next day with some print paper, even without reservation and he got his visa the next day after getting interview.

 Even if your blue stamp was from Savannakhet that stamp target only tourist visa. You can read my big post one hour ago, my Thai GF spoke directly to officer monday.

First time Ed visa laos is fine. Don't use up Kota bharu for first time.

if you go to Laos, you need to be sure and book an appointment in advance, they no longer accept walk ups.

Just as a heads-up, if you already stayed in Thailand for 180 days this year (or anything over 120) on SETVs and attempt to enter via an Airport, there are high chances to be denied since you are already over the 120 day threshold - best option is to enter via a land border. 2nd, yes as it says, there might be some issues in getting another Tourist Visa (but not EDU) unless you change passports in the future OR the ones stamping your visa don't notice that remark..

 Please do not scare people tho... u are right that 6 months in Thailand there is decent chance of denied in BKK but u can enter south or north Thailand via air even 20 time per year for 10 years no issue. It is very point of entry specific just like when u apply for a tourist visa. I got denied twice in Phnom Penh in 2012 and 2018. Phnom Penh are tough on visa runner. You just need to keep yourself updated.

 thank you for your detailed post from today. Yes, it depends on the border you enter from, but I've entered Thailand mostly through BKK and DMK, only twice via the south to Hat Yai..good that you're gonna change your visa soon to make it easier in the future and avoid any hassle!

 Dude ive been in Thailand since 2015 on exempt and tourist visa and I enter yesterday in CM no proof of or any question asked. Everything is point of entry dependant. 3 place to avoid... BKK Phuket and Poipet.

 Plz be more careful with ur affirmation. Air denied is BKK and Phuket, and u will get denied by land in Poipet with too many tourist visas. Other land or air entry are safe atm. You try to enter in DMK, I have avoid DMK for 6 years bcz they refuse a lot of people.

 The fake 180 days ruling only apply to BKK and Phuket, in arbitrary decision because there is no such rule. The 2nd part of ur post is totally wrong, that blue writing only affect further tourist visa try. You can read the long post I posted today.

. I've been told it by a Thai Consul-general in Australia. When I asked them if they needed my old passport to see travel history to thailand when I applied for an O visa they said " No need . It's all in database due to E passport" . Different number on new passport made no difference either. That's what the chip is for, not just biometrics.

Garrett Greenwald limit is 60 days per year in thailand on a tourist visa, been stated to me by various officers even my local officer in isaan, i got denied entry last month but got a none o from uk in the end

 In my country that is almost impossible bcs of the let's just call it old fashion bureaucracy; I tried that and even though I showed proof of income and all, I was asked to show 4 plane tickets in-out Thailand. When I said I will provide also those I was told that even so I might be denied unless I show I have a boat cruise that shows i am going in-out Thailand :D. So my only options would be to get it from the US, Australia or Canada. If you know other countries that grant METV for non-residents that would be really helpful!

And anyone who holds an E passport that thinks getting a fresh passport will erase your history is mistaken. There's a chip in your passport that stores data and is accessed every time you enter and exit a country.

On my side I stayed around 150 days with my first 2 SETVs this year and had no problems at CM airport when entering the 3rd time. No questions and was not asked to show the 20k baht. Although I was prepared for this because of the remark I have on my last visa. BTW, thank you all for your answers!

Garrett Greenwald 3 years ago an Agency in Penang told me there are 3 SETVS/year..Things have changed a bit lately.. I invite anyone who has had 2 SETVS this year (Including extensions, so 180 days in total) to get the 3rd SETV and try to re-enter Thailand through an Airport Border :)...

 latest reports from folks who have stayed on SETVs for more than 120 days and tried to re-enter on a fresh SETV. Land borders are more lax if you have your 20k cash and return ticket. Airport immigration control is more strict. For example (my case), In 2 years I had 2 SETVs (one a year) and that's it (been there for less than 3 months in the 3 last years) and I was still grilled at the DMK airport when I attempted to enter on my 2nd SETV in the passport..it also depends on your luck I guess :)...
