 You know, there are dozens of commercial thai visa offices doing this exact same thing (even right in the official office buildings where you go for visa extensions etc). If this is costing anyone money, now is a bit late to notice it...

 There is some conflicting information around this, a lot of sources mention 180 days per year... I hope they're wrong and you can keep reentering...
